Is the abeip module in Mango store compatible with AB PLC compactlogix controller 1768?

I need to communicate with the I/O devices via MangoES as a EtherNet/IP gateway. Since it is developed by Deltamation, will there any support or help available by infinite automation?

Can anyone kindly share some insight or experience on the communication with AB PLC compactlogix?

      Thanks you!

I'm using the abeip driver to talk to a 1769 controller with 400 tags. I had an issue with loss of communication, which was a result of the poll rate being too slow. I'm using a 5 second poll rate now with interval logging which works for my application.

          Hi Brad,

          Thank you for your sharing.

As I am unable to find any documentation on the abeip, perhaps you can share with us on the setting up the EtherNet/IP as a data source in the MangoES.

If possible, a screen shot will be helpful to understand the configuration parameters.

          Thank you in advance.

If your processor is in a different slot than 0 you will have to match the slot field to the appropriate entry. Same for the rack field. You will get CIP errors otherwise.

Once you've got the data source you just add the data points you want to view.

I had issues trying to access the bit level field of an Integer type, so I had to create an Integer datapoint in Mango and break the bits out myself.

              Hi Brad,

Thank you so much for your valuable information.

I will be involve in a job site having AB PLC 1768 controller.
I am considering to communicate AB PLC via MangoES to perform engineering work on site.

In fact I am hesitate to buy the abeip driver. Now I have decided to give it a try.

              Have a nice day!

Depending on the hardware you have on site, you may be able lo do without. For example, we utilize Red Lion HMI's.

The HMI could be used as a gateway to the AB PLC via Modbus.

However the amount of work it requires outweighs the cost of the driver by a lot. Once the settings were correct, it hasn't let me down.
