abeip module won't connect to 5069-L306ER

  • Hello,

    I am having trouble getting the abeip module to connect to an Allen Bradley 5069-L306ER PLC. (The only one in my network)

    I currently have a few other Allan Bradley L16, L17 and L30 Ethernet/IP data sources configured and they are working great.

    Here is a basic run down on my setup;
    -Debian 9 VM on XCP-ng
    -Kernel version 4.9.0-11-amd64 x86_64
    -Mango core ver. 3.7.4 (installed by .sh script)
    -abeip module ver. 3.7.0
    -PLC is Allan Bradley 5069-L306ER, firmware ver. 32.12

    The data source is not showing any aborted polls but I am not actually getting point data from the L306.

    With the data source enabled in Mango, the PLC port diagnostics starts showing an increase in "Unknown Protocol Packets Inbound:" at a rate of 2 packets per poll.

    Seems like a CIP implementation issue in the abeip module but I can't be sure.

  • @meverett without knowing exactly what the problem is it will be hard for us to diagnose/fix the bug. Can you provide a pcap file from WireShark for the communication for a few polls? It is either the read request for the data points OR the connection request to initialize the connection.

    Once I have some time I will take a look. I will admit it has been some time since I've decomposed any ABeIP packets but hopefully it will come back to me quickly!
