So after many additions and changes to the dashboards side menu I finally made an error and was forced to reset the menu to its default. Is there a procedure to backup and to restore this menu structure in the event it happens again?

The menu is stored in the JSON store so is backed up with your database and also the JSON configuration backup. Any changes to the menu are also stored in the Audit trail so you can follow these general instructions to restore to a previous version of the menu.

If its easier for you, you can also just navigate to JSON store under the administration menu and copy and paste the contents from mangoUI-menu into a text file somewhere.

Also we think we have fixed the issue which might cause menus/page lists to disappear in 3.3 so we would urge everyone to upgrade.
