BACnet explorer
-
I would like to build an BACnet explorer. I would like to be able to install Mango on a RaspberryPi. Connect it to an Network and scan the network for BACnet devices. When I find them I would like to be able to navigate throw them and read and set them manually. Lika a front end for the existing BACnet discovery. The problem is that i do not want to use the existing data source tool. This need to be very simple to use. Simply open the web page press searh and it starts to list device.
Of course I am going to add functions to this later on. But the basic tool is an BACnet explorer tool. Can I use Mango as an platform to build this.
I have also looked at HMI5 to do this. But I am hoping that Mango will be an better solution. -
You could use Mango as a platform for this but it might be a bit over kill. We have started developing an API for Mango. We don't currently have API features for the discovery tool but that will be added at some point. You could then use pure JavaScript / HTML5 to build a UI that sits on top of Mango to do all the functions that you want. Again this will only be possible once we build the API features for the BACnet discovery which I don't have a timeline but I would say it will be this year.
