OPC???
-
Any way todo OPC in java? that would be cool!
-
OPC client library: http://sourceforge.net/projects/jeasyopc
-
Some notes:
- that library is Windows only (a constraint for the Mango server, not for users' browsers)
- we have no OPC equipment with which to test the development of a data source
- development of this would need to be funded
-
UtgardProject is pure java OPC client.
Seems like there are tons of free OPC servers out there they can use databases as a source for data or pretty much anything else under the sun. I'm not a huge OPC fan cause it seems like most OPC servers are windows based and I'm a linux guy. But for Mango it seems like a good way to go to get mango to support pretty much all hardware out there.
Just an idea not looking for anything personally. -
UtgardProject is GPL, so it could only (legally) be included in OpenMango, not the commercial version.

i've avoided OPC because the servers seemed to be always windows only as well.
