Correcting historical data
-
I've one or two data point values for a data source that are incorrect (device occasionally returns 0 for a meter reading if there is a transient issue which screws up the delta calculations) when displaying). I was wondering what is the easiest way to delete the errant readings from the point history?

Hi petermcs,
The easiest way is to download the data for that time period from the /data_point_details.shtm page (the download area is by the top right of the chart), then edit that to mark the samples you want deleted with 'delete' in the 'Modify add/delete' column, and finally import this change to the data by submitting the modified file to the /dataImport.shtm page.
Edit: Other ways would include the API or calling the PointValueDao's deletePointValuesBetween method with arguments(value.time, value.time+1) in a script context. I can show you how to do that if you'd like.

Thanks Phil,
That was exactly what I needed.

Hi Phil
Was reading this and sometime I need to backfill data that is logged on the edge device back into the database when a radio goes down. Just a few questions:
- in the old point details screen I can only download as a image. in the new UI there is csv available. I take it I must use the new Ui?
- I have downloaded it in all the formats and there is no Modify add/delete' column. Do I need to make one?
EDIT:
Nevermind I was on the wrong page...
