  • Hi how do I make the DS1990A 1-wire USB interface unit work with mango ?
When I try to add 1-wire to the system only com1 shows, not any USB ports

    regards, jesper

  • Java's support for USB is sketchy at best. I don't recall off hand if there is a Windows solution to this problem, but for *nix you can buy special serial/USB cables (about $25 in Canada). Then you issue a command such as the following:

    mknod /dev/ttyUSB0 c 188 0

The two '0' (zeroes) can be replaced with whatever node you want to use. Note that the nature of USB though makes it sometimes unpredictable which node number will be used. This is usually just a problem on system restarts though.

Once this is done, you should see something like "/dev/ttyUSB0" show up in your port lists in Mango.

  • Which one wire device are you planning on using?
