Help to customize Events Page

Happy New Years all!
We are looking to have a custom Events page which has the icon in the "Message" area link to a custom page rather than send it to the data-point-details page. we'd like to have it got to our custom page and pass it two variables. These events are triggered from a Meta Datasource.
