Can I export a publisher to JSON, add in a few extra data points then import it back into the system and have it automatically create these points on the cloud DS ?

You certainly can, just ensure that the points you want to send exist. This is assuming you mean a mango TCP publisher of course,
        Edit: misread the question.

Perfect thanks this worked. I had a disabled data source on the cloud with xid's same as the new ones coming from the ES so I had to remove these and it recreated them in the persistent source, perfect.
