Mango connet with BACnet ms/tp device through PC RS-232 port
-
Hello,
I try to connet the BACnet MS/TP device through PC RS-232 port. The ms/tp controller conneted with rs-485 to rs-323 converter, then connect to PC rs-232 port.
I have set up BACnet device property in the system setting pages:
But I can not discovery the ms/tp controllers:
Can anybody kindly support me on this?
Best regards,

Sometimes will show the ms/tp device:
But then show "timeout waiting for response", and no BACnet objests show in the table.

Hello,
Nobody answer this question?
I check my setting many times. Today I got this:
-
Hello All,
I changed another RS232 to RS485 conventer, and the MS/TP controllers has been poll in!

Hi
I did have problems with Bacnet MS/TP, the only way I could do discovery or proper polling is through a Johnson controller or .
But I have an idea that may work and will let you know soon, I'm going to get a Bacnet TCP to Bacnet MS/tp and try it that way. -

Hello zdabbsa,Thanks for your reply. Do you want to route the ms/tp controllers to B/IP through the Johnson controller? I don't know if Mango can read/write the ms/tp controllers's data through the BACnet router.

At this point the Johnson is doing the timing and helping with the discovery of the Backnet ms/tp units. my problem is that when I remove the Johnson controller from the network Mango is unable to control or send commands to them through bacnet ms/tp. my suspesion is that Mango MS/tp protocol is not able to give the right timing and speed of the serial to the units. but when the johnson put back in the network every runs fine.now I have a small delay in response time from the bacnet units the delay is between 4-9 sec and I'm suspecting the Johnson controller is causing it. since I have Bacnet TCP running with no problems I thought I would install a bacnet ms/tp to bacnet tcp converter and have the mango on the TCP side to see if the delay problem can be resolved.

@jackchang I know this was 2 years ago, but if you're still around could you point me to which RS232 to RS485 converter you used?
