Scripting in Mango
-
Hi all,I have one question regarding scripting in Mango and SSTGlobalScript module. When ordering modules I noticed that the SSTGlobalScript costs 40 $ which gives us unrestricted access to all the functions.Where can I get an overview what am I missing when I will not order the module because I can't seem to find the specific information about the restricted scripts. The question came into our attention when we tried to implement our written script to our central server which had been running on MangoES. We are converting UTF-16 characters to HEX.The main question is following:Does the free version of SSTGlobalScript module restrict usage of .lenght / charCodeAt / toString js functions? If so, then we will order the SSTGlobalScript module right away because we cannot pinpoint the reason why on MangoES everything works with paid modules but on our central server the results of charCodeAt.toString are 0 and we are without SSTGlobalScripts. Thanks,
ThomasEdit:
Problem solved. We were still using JDK 1.7. When upgraded to 1.8 everything started working again.
The question still remains the same:
What are the benefits of buying the SSTGlobalScript module?
Thanks,

Hi Thomas,
I tested the three functions you mention to confirm they work (I thought they were standard functions since... ever) on java 7 and they do.
Currently, there are no restrictions on the free version of the module. I am not aware of any plans to change that. Your next question is naturally, "why?" Think of it as a "wikipedia" style module. If you buy it, you help support the product and help us work toward our ultimate goals, which will include more things for free, not less.
