upgrade from 1.x to 2.x

I am using modbus4j 1.x based on rxtx. we came across some strange issues.
my program is not stable. the modbus4j thread for IO frequently terminated for some reason.
I am not sure this is related to modbus4j library. does anybody has some issue?
